RDA invests in a variety of real estate projects throughout the United States.

When investing in real estate, RDA will co-invest, act as lead or provide mezzanine financing for all types of real estate transactions. Below are sample real estate projects on which RDA has invested:

  • Strip Malls: RDA, through one of its affiliates, is one of the lead partners in an investment company that owns over 70 properties throughout the United States. Substantially all of these properties are retail strip malls heavily concentrated in California and Texas, with approximately 8,500,000 square feet of rentable space.
  • Condo conversion: In 1990, RDA was a principal investor in the purchase of 2 rental apartment buildings, consisting of 146 units, in Brooklyn, NY. The borough of Brooklyn has seen unprecedented growth and development over the last 5 years. The buildings remained rented while undergoing the condo conversion process with the Attorney General’s office. The conversion process was completed by 2004 and sales commenced immediately thereafter.
  • Mezzanine Financing: RDA is a lead investor in the mezzanine financing on a $75 million condo conversion in Palatine, Illinois. The property consists of 719 units divided among 18, two-story apartment buildings, 52 acres of manicured grounds, tennis courts, pool, fitness center and recently renovated clubhouse.
  • Mobile home parks: RDA is the lead investor in the purchase of 5 mobile home parks in Monticello, Indiana. These manufactured housing communities have a total of 294 existing home sites and offers playgrounds, swimming pool, boat docks, boat ramps and boat storage, and lakeside activities.
  • Construction financing: RDA provided financing to contractors in Park City Utah for the construction of 2 high-end luxury homes.
  • Hawaiian property: RDA partnered in the purchase and subsequent re-zoning and sale of 44 acres of vacant beachfront property on Kauai Island, Hawaii. RDA currently has an interest in the commercial development of 6.185 acres on Kauai Island.
